Penny, adopted by Peter & Vivien of Tillsonburg, Ontario. Penny was rescued from an Amish Puppy Mill in Ontario. She was very shy and nervous, but not anymore!

November 13, 2008 Hi Kimberly, Penny has been great company for us and has proved to be a fast learner. Within two weeks of having her she learned to ring the bell we have hanging on the door to go out and has never let us down with any accidents in the house. We purchased a harness for her and we just place it on the floor and she steps into it.... sometimes missing the correct place but she feels good for trying. She is still cautious of some men and we feel this was due to her past. Penny gets two long walks a day and is very friendly with all other dogs. On the afternoon walk, she meets up with eight other dogs which are all much bigger than her but she is the centre of attraction and runs free with them all. She is so good that we have no problem and she comes back in a great hurry if she knows we have liver treats. Penny has brightened our household and enjoys games. I think we have more toys for her than we had for our two boys when they were growing up! We are so pleased we found you and Penny. Peter & Vivien

Murphy & Maddox, adopted by Hester & Marcus of Orangeville, Ontario!

Nov. 9, 2008 Hi Kimberly, can't believe it has been 6 months since we brought Maddox and Murphy home. They are 9 months old now and have become two very handsome boys. Maddox is always on the move and we should have renamed him Chewbacca, he sounds just like him when he talks, it's so funny. Murphy is our 70lbs lap dog, he will curl up on your lap and fall straight asleep. He is so cuddly. They constantly keep us on our toes and are a joy to have around. They are doing amazing in all their obedience classes and have proven to be two very smart puppies. Sadly, we lost our older dog Sultan in September. He developed another form of cancer that had spread too rapidly and we had to make the very tough decision to put him at peace. Thanks to Maddox and Murphy our two very kooky puppies, they have made that difficult time more bearable. I have attached a few pictures of Maddox and Murphy at 9 months of age for you to see. Kindest regards, Hester & Marcus Pacheco and Family

"Reggie", now re-named Thai, adopted by Fred & Tammy of Port Perry, Ontario! Thank you for giving Reggie the loving home he deserved!

November 2008 Hi Kimberly, Thai ( a.k.a Reggie) has been such a big part of our family since we adopted him from you, I can't begin to tell you. He is definitely Momma's big boy and still acts like a puppy at 2 years old. Thai and the little white Jack Russell, Kamber, play constantly. I am so glad we found you on petfinder.com that day. He has been nothing but pure joy and love to us and truly something special. Thank you for taking such good care of him while you had him and thank you for what you do.
Fred & Tammy Harnden Port Perry, ON

"Jersey" is quite photogenic - Special Thanks To www.scruffydogphotography.com!

October 2008 Hi Kimberly, Last Monday was our official Jersiversary, but I wanted to get back the pics from a photo session we had of Jersey before emailing so I could send a couple along to you (because she’s so cute!). Jersey is so great! She’s become indispensible to us, our family, and our home! She does all sorts of wacky things, like getting herself stuck under the futon in the spare room...six times in one day (photographic evidence attached) and walks around on her hind legs on a regular basis without any prompting from us. And, thankfully, she has yet to nab the birds; although she gets them flying pretty quick at times. We have an off-leash dog park in our neighbourhood and Jersey is always the Belle of the Ball. Every time we go someone “offers” to take her home. She’s really submissive with other dogs, and usually prefers to make friends with all the people (particularly children). Seriously, she’ll jump into the lap of any stranger on the bench. We’re actually very glad she’s so friendly. Anyway, I hope everything is going well with you, and you’re getting lots of doggies into good homes! Best wishes, Tammy and Brad

Dillan, now renamed "Ringo"

October 2008 Hi Kimberly, I have been meaning to send you pictures of Dillan (now Ringo) for 2 years! We adopted this timid little dog from you in September 2006. He has really come out of his shell in the last 2 years. My daughter Katie was just 31/2 when we adopted him. They became fast friends. Katie is almost 6 now and we have an 11 month old baby who also loves Ringo. Ringo is very protective of Elizabeth. Ringo is a great little dog - we couldn't imagine life without him! He is great with the kids, he loves to play fetch and he still follows me everywhere I go. Thanks again for letting us adopt Ringo. He is the perfect dog for us! Kim Oliver-Parker

Ari, adopted by Gord & Mary of Oakville, Ontario! Ari was rescued from an Amish Puppy Mill in Ontario.Thank you Mary and Gord for giving him a loving home and a new lease on life.

I've been meaning to email you for awhile now but the days seem to just get busier all the time. We wanted to give you an update on Ari, now re-named Yoda. We just love him to death! He is the sweetest, most loving little dog we've ever seen! I don't think we could have gotten a better dog with a year's worth of research! All he wants to do is please us and be close to us every minute. That little face with those long eyelashes and his fearlessness and comical nature makes our hearts smile everytime! He hasn't had any accidents and he goes to the door when he wants to go out. He loves to run around and play outside and when he goes to the leashfree park, he runs like the wind and plays with every dog he sees. (Then he sleeps for hours when he gets home). He brings the biggest stick he can carry in from his walks and chews it up all over the living room floor. It's worth every minute of extra vacuuming to see him dragging a stick he's so carefully picked out, all the way into the building and up in the elevator. Sometimes they're too big for him, but he seems to be quite proud of himself when he finally gets in the house! He has the most amazing personality. He doesn't bark, he's inquizitive, lovable, playful, and happy. Everyone in our building knows his name and they stop to talk to him and pet him all the time. His chewing is on and off. Usually he's quite content with all his bones and toys, but if the closet door is left open, one may find half a flip flop or slipper, then other times he just empties the closet and brings everything into the living room...lol...guess it depends on how he's feeling at the time. We are enclosing some pictures of him that we took in the past few days. He's getting a bit furry and looking more like a teddy bear every day. He will be having a spa day soon! I can't even express how happy we are that we found this loving little creature, and we can't picture a day without him. He's an absolute joy. Thank you for doing what you do. If you hadn't rescued him, we would never have had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. Sincerely, Gord and Mary

Rudy

Hi Kimberly, I was looking at your website pictures and saw Rudy's brothers Jayden and Riley - what a family resemblance! I realized that I had never sent a picture of Rudy. We have had him now for 1.5 years and we can't imagine life without him. He is such a big baby and just loves kids. He is also an obedience school graduate and very well behaved, especially off the leash. His favourite activities are walks of course, but also running with us while we mountain bike and snowboard. Snow and water are a great source of fun for Rudy too. He has many dog friends in our neighbourhood and they love to come to our yard to play! Forever loving our furry family member,
The Lalonde Family

"Kage", was adopted by HUGE supporters of Kismutt Rescue, Rob, Sharon & Dustin Roffel of St. Thomas, Ontario! Kage was rescued from an Mennonite Puppy Mill in Ontario, and was slated to spend his life in a cage as a stud dog. I cannot thank Rob, Sharon & Dustin enough for all the donations and support to Kismutt Rescue over the years. You guys are truly the best!

August 2008 Hi Kimberly, Here is the little "Tazmanian Devil" aka Kage. There's never a dull moment when he's around. He is the cutest, funniest and cuddliest little puppy and full of energy. And to think he might have spent his life in a cage as a stud dog just breaks my heart. Every dog desserves a loving home. Thanks Kimberly for rescuing him. Sharon, Rob & Dustin

Cuddles, now named "Dexter" was rescued from a Mennonite Puppy Mill in Ontario, and was adopted by Dawn & Jay of London, Ontario! Dexter is pictured sitting on Dawn's lap. Thank you both for being patient with Cuddles and providing him with a loving home.

August 18, 2008 Hi Kimberly, Well its has been six months since we brought Cuddles home. We have renamed him Dexter. We had a little problem with his house training at first but it seems like he has the hang of it. Jack, (our other dog) loves his new brother and if they aren't wrestling together they are chasing one another in the backyard. Dexter has brought so much joy to the both us. He loves going for walks, car rides and ripping the stuffing out of all his toys. Thanks again for all the wonderful things you do for these animals that otherwise might not have had a chance. Sincerely, Dawn Strong and Jay Bell

Willow, now re-named Roxy adopted by the Remer Family of Michigan, USA. Thank you Renee for choosing to adopt, and sending me these ADORABLE pictures!!

August 21, 2008 Hi Kimberly, I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say hello and to let you know that Roxy (FKA: Willow) is doing great! She quickly found a way into our hearts :) She gets along wonderfully with our other chow, Bourree--affectionately nicknamed, 'Boo', 'Boo-Bear' or 'Stinky'. Roxy has a few nicknames, too! We call her 'Roxy Heart', 'Foxy-Roxy' or sometimes 'Roxy-Roller'. She always comes when we call her - no matter what name we call! We are so happy to have found her at Kismut. Here are some recent pictures of Roxy. She's getting big-24 lbs already! She's a healthy and very happy puppy. Thank you so much for bringing us together! Renee Remer & family :)

August 2008, This fellow was quite the welcome addition to our home. He was welcomed by a big brother Fergie. I first seen a picture of him on the Kismutt website and from there called Kim, went to see him and the rest is history. He is a real attention getter; if he doesn't get it the usual way, he resorts to many different tactics, from tossing the pillows off the couch, to pulling up the grass in tufts. We are now doing a rock garden to cover all the bare holes (good thing I love him). Finnigan and Fergie are good play fellows and great buddies, enjoying their morning walks every day and having wrestling matches. He is a great pet and a good friend! Marlene Weston St. Marys, ON

Trixy Fresh out of the Mill and getting shaved at Kismutt Rescue

Thank you Paul & Susan for adopting Trixy and providing her with a loving and patient home.

Trixie who we named Olive, came into our lives during the long weekend in May when myself and my husband, Paul, along with daughter, Jen, and "grand-dog" Ada traveled out to the Kismutt Facility to meet "Trixy". We didn’t know very much about puppy mills or the psychological challenges associated with adopting a dog from rescue but believed we would have the patience to survive. We certainly knew we had lots of love to give but these little souls need so much more than that. You were a trusted guide in those first few confusing weeks. Luckily, our grand-dog did a great deal of the adjustment training for us. Ada taught Olive how to be a dog. When Olive first arrived, she was shy and anxious – her tail permanently plastered to her butt. We were thrilled though with all of her initial strides which appeared easy – she walked well on leash right away and her toilet training went fairly well with only the odd accident. She was most challenging, though, in approaching my husband Paul when he first arrived home from work each day. What I learned about these dogs through her is that they need to establish a safe place in the home – that is where they go when they are scared and uncertain. For us, that was our couch in the living room and also under our bed. Men, in particular, have to be ready to be soft, gentle, patient. And, they have to be patient with feeling a bit rejected until the trust builds. That is happening now for Olive and my husband and, I must say, I think we now have a "daddy’s girl". Olive now plays with toys, fetches her tuffy and jumps for joy at the sound of her many squeak toys from her grandma. She has been an absolute blessing in our lives and all she wants is to cuddle and be loved. It is so rewarding to see this timid little soul come alive with life. While I know that we still have some challenges ahead – we are so encouraged by her will and determination to be "normal". Thank you for bringing her to us. Susan and Paul London, Ontario

Leah, adopted by Abe & Lindsay of Kitchener, Ontario! Leah, a puppy mill survivor was a very shy little girl when she was rescued. Not anymore!

Aug. 26, 2008 Hi Kimberly, Leah is doing very well and growing like stink weed! She is definitely bigger than we thought she would be. She has an abundance of energy, and is very affectionate. She also has a little bit of "diva" in her as she has selective hearing and definitely has a mind of her own :0) She has brought a lot of joy, love, and laughter to many people, and I would like to thank you for sending us our little angel...devil...angel.... oh whatever, our little stinker! (Or as we like to call her, little Missus!) Hope you are well, and continuing your compassionate work. Linds

"Arthur", a Puppy Mill rescue was adopted by the Tettmar family of Stouffville, Ontario! Thank you for giving Arthur a wonderful home!

Dear Kimberly, Thank you for our Arthur. He is a spirited, fun loving little guy who is proving to be a wonderful addition to our family and a great companion to our dog Jack who is now in his senior years. Kimberly – you have set the standard for dog rescue organizations. We were so impressed with your professionalism, organization, and of course, the comfortable and loving environment provided for the dogs lucky enough to come into your care. Wish you lived closer – would love to help you in your work! Valerie Tettmar Stouffville, Ontario Sincerely, Nicole & Family

Rambunctious, "Rocky", adopted by the Rogers family of Exeter, Ontario!   Thank you for the ADORABLE picture of all your babies!  You have the patience of a saint :-)

July 2008 Hi Kim!  Rocky is a great addition to our circus!  He fits right in!  He has so much energy, that he can outrun our friends champion agility dog!   He has become very close with all our kids, and for the most part they get along great. I really wish however, that he'd stop pulling our 2 year olds shorts off when they are horsing around in the yard   It is kind of cute, but I don't think Atley likes it very much!   Rocky just finished his first obedience class and survived!  It is quite the chore to keep up with him and the kids, but we manage.   Thanks for rescuing him so that he could be part of our lives!  Onward to our next adventure! Sincerely, Nicole & Family

July 8, 2008 Commander Warf, a.k.a. "Warfie" at 6 months.  We adopted this smart and curious little puppy at the age of 10 weeks  from Kismutt Small Dog Rescue.  Kim at Kismutt is very serious about finding good homes for the dogs that she lovingly provides shelter for.  Warf is a great family dog, and he finds amusement playing with my children Ethan (8) and Hannah (6).  We all enjoy is character, and never a day passes where he doesn't make us laugh.  Our experience adopting Warf and caring for him has been a positive one, and we cannot imagine our family now without him!  He has grown quite tall now, and is 16 lbs.  He follows us everywhere, and always wants to be close to one of us for a snuggle and a scratch.  Warf enjoys meeting other dogs, and has made a few friends in the neighbourhood.  He has learned quickly how to sit, stay and understands commands like "go lay down".  He loves his walks, likes the water at the cottage, and boat rides.  Blueberries or bananas are his favourite treats!  Thank you Kim again for what you do, and for choosing us for Warf's new family. -Laurie Pelletier

Copper, adopted by Carol & Craig of Lindsay, Ontario! Copper is pictured on Carol's lap. Thank you Carol and Craig for adopting Copper and rescuing all your pooches! You are a very special person.

Hi Kim, July 2008    Thought I'd give you latest update. We have changed her name AGAIN to
Copper! Couldn't get the hang of Cadence. I am attaching some photos of "the pack". She is such a good pup. Not one
accident in the house! The Akita and Bouv are pretty much ignoring her. The
Bouv almost played with her last night. We are doing regular walks to help
with bonding. I just love her and so does everyone that meets her. She was into the vet's
yesterday for her next set of shots and they all loved her, even being a Chow (-: Thanks again for trusting us with this lovely girl and
I will keep you updated. -Carol

"Angus" & "Anika", were both adopted by Jeff & Shelia of St. Marys, Ontario!  Thank you so much for opening your hearts and your home to 2 needy dogs!!

July 4, 2008   Hi Kimberly! Angus & Anika are doing absolutely wonderful and growing like weeds!

We are totally enjoying both of them. So glad that we didn't separate them at adoption time.  Stop by anytime for a visit.....the door is always open. Just be ready for lots of tail wags and kisses. LOL  Take care, Sheila

Cooper, adopted by Leslie of St. Thomas, Ontario!   Thank you Leslie for adopting Cooper and providing him with the loving home he deserves!

June 28, 2008  Hello Kimberly; It has been awhile since I last emailed you, but Cooper is growing and is now 15 pounds.  He is smart (learned to roll over in about a minute) and friendly; we are so happy that you let us adopt him!  Right now, he is long and lean and very healthy (he just got his third shot with his Rabies
shot on Thursday).  His ears are beginning to stand up so he looks a bit lop-sided right now; he is quite a character!  I have attached a couple of photos to show you how he has changed (he LOVES to go to the woods!!).

Cooper is such a happy boy!  Thank you for letting us bring him home! -Leslie

"Randy", (foreground) adopted by Dana & Joyce of Kitchener, Ontario!  Randy was rescued from an Amish Puppy Mill in Perth County .  Thank you so much Dana & Joyce for being patient with Randy and giving him the love and security he needed.

Hi Kimberly!  Everyday Randy gets more and more comfortable with us.   Penny and he are the very best of friends, spending their days playing, eating and sleeping. He has met our vet and staff and they fell for him as well.  You have a definate dedication for these animals you rescue.   Thank you for all of your work and especially for bringing Randy to our family. Dana, Joyce

"Lexi", adopted by the Rombough family of London, Ontario!  Thank you Barb for choosing to adopt, and sending the adorable pictures!

June 20, 2008  Hi Kimberly, I just wanted to send you a quick email to let you know how Lexi is doing...we changed her name as of today....took a bit of time for all 5 of us to agree on one name!

She is so adorable and good as gold!!!  We all love her dearly and are so excited to have her home!  She is so happy with us....she is just a very grateful fun loving little puppy that is so easy to love!  Thanks so much, Kimberly, and we will keep in touch.  :-)  Barb

Victoria (now re-named Velcro), adopted by Michelle of London, Ontario.  Thank you Michelle for stepping up to the plate and providing this Puppy Mill survivor with a warm and loving home.

May 26, 2008  Hi Kimberly, Just wanted you to know that we are doing great!   Velcro's personality is really emerging.   Did you know that she's the Artful Dodger? Loves to steal "stuff", not to chew but just to have. This includes clothing, clean or dirty, dishwasher tabs (from my cleaning lady, who also brings Velcro treats) and any food or containers left within reach - or that she can climb to get.  Always a great sleeper, she's down for the count at about ten o'clock but ready to rock and roll at the drop of a hat. Velcro has gotten over her shyness of men and now thinks everyone MUST love her... and they do!  We had a few issues re: toileting but seem to have them resolved. Puppy pads provided the answer. This girl is so smart!  She never fails to impress me each day with her great attitude.  She is a delight!  I am glad to see that so many others have found families too!   I know Velcro has made my life so much richer!   Thanks Kimberly!
Love, Michelle and Velco

Hi Kimberly April 22, 2008 Bella, a.k.a Jada, has been enjoying the DINK life (dual income no kids) with us. She loves everything - being at the cottage by the lake in the summer, tunnelling through the snow in the winter, her dog friends in the neighbourhood, and EVERY person she meets. She insists on kissing everyone and loves nothing more than a good belly rub. She is our constant companion and we are thrilled to have her. We are so glad we found Kismutt! Here's a few pics with some of our adventures thus far. All the best, Cathy.

"Hailey",  adopted by Ken & Heather of Kitchener, Ontario!  Thank you for spoiling Hailey and providing her with a loving home!!!

Dear Kimberly,   Hailey is such a good girl and SO smart.  Her favourite game is hide and seek, and she is really good at it!!  This is her first winter and she loves running through the snow and chasing down snowballs.  She is naturally good natured and has always strived to be good from the day we brought her home.  Everyday is more wonderful now that she is a part of our family.  We can’t thank you enough for taking such good care of Hailey when she was with you and letting us adopt her.  The dogs are so well cared for and loved when they are with you.  Thank you so much for all the hard work you do in making sure every dog has a loving home to go to, and letting Hailey’s loving home be ours :)

Heather

Isiah, now re-named Baily, adopted by Rob & Adriana of Markham, Ontario!  Baily is a lucky little girl to have such an awesome new Mom & Dad

March 6, 2008   Hi Kimberly,
Thought I'd give you alittle update and post some more pictures of Baily. Where do I start, she is the sweetest most cutest puppy ever.  I know I sound like a crazy dog owner but seriously, Rob and I feel very fortunate that she is so good.

She is housetrained (YAY in 2 weeks).  Went quite well actually and she sleeps through the night 7 hours already. She has excellent leash manners...walks beside us, little to no pulling and always looking back at us.   She will attend beginner classes in a couple of weeks to help us teach the basic commands.   She seems ready now as she has shown us to be very smart!t!

Baily absolutley loves to play in the snow; if she had her drothers, she would spend all day in the backyard running around and digging snow holes to play in.  She loves to find sticks and run with them.  She gets lots of exercise, at least 3 good walks day plus all the running in the back yard and house play too. (it's no wonder she sleeps through the night). She doesn't bark. (how nice)

In any case, I could go on and on...please enjoy the latest pictures and we'll email again soon. Thank you again for choosing us to adopt such a sweet girl.

Cheers!
Adriana

Stella, adopted by Lauren & Paul of Mississauga, Ontario!  Thank YOU Lauren & Paul for choosing to adopt!!

March 5, 2008    Kimberly,   Thank you so much for everything you've done. What you do for these animals is unbelievable, and I wish that more people cared about animals the way you do.

Stella has made us happier then we could of ever imagined, and as crazy as she is, we can't imagine our lives without her!!! She's doing so well; she's 5 months and loves playing in the snow. We just finished 8 weeks of obedience classes and she finished at the top of her class!

Thank you again for everything you do - I tell everyone about your work and let them know if they're looking for a pet, to check your web site!

We'll keep in touch and send pictures as she grows!

Talk to you soon,

Lauren and Paul

"Gilbert", now re-named Qunicy, adopted by Lydia of Niagra-on-the-Lake, Ontario!! Thank you Lydia for choosing to adopt, and providing such a wonderful home for Gilbert. And what a beautiful poem you wrote. I just have to share......

February 20, 2008  Dear Kimberly, What in the world can we possibly say that will express our joy?
How can we possibly thank you for giving us this sweet little boy?
He may have no pedigree and of no great breeding can he boast,
but look at him - will you - he is finer in many more ways than most.
He is handsome, bright, loving and smart as a whip.
He's teething now, so we beg your pardon, as he does tend to nip.
But even with the training that it will take to refine our little man into a prince,
From the day he came we have not stopped laughing and smiling since.
KisMutt Rescue gave us the greatest gift when they allowed us for Quincy to care.
We now have a little soul with which our love and home to forevermore share!

Lydia :)

"Kenny", now re-named Blue, adopted by Pauline & Family of London, Ontario!  Thank you Pauline & Greg for adopting Kenny and giving him a wonderful loving home!

March 6, 2008   Dear Kimberly,  Here is a picture of "Blue" and our other dog, Sadie.  Sadie was so lonely after Mandy our rescued Greyhound died of old age;  we knew we had to adopt again.   My son, daughter, husband and I are having so much fun getting to know Blue.   He is the nicest puppy, so loving,  playful, smart and soft!
Sadie and Blue run around the backyard like crazy chasing each other, play tug of war with sticks and are loving the snow far more than we are right now....we want spring!  God Bless you Kimberly in all that you do to make the lives of the unwanted, healthy and wanted!!  "Blue sends cheek kisses"
Sincerly, Pauline, Greg, Daryl, Sarah and Sadie.

Mambo, adopted by the Pulis family of Markham, Ontario!  Thank you Lisa for choosing to adopt and sending along this ADORABLE picture of your 3 babies!

January 14, 2008   Hi Kimberly!    Mambo is such a loveable character who steals the hearts of everyone he meets!  He has a gentle personality and is full of charisma.  Mambo has been a perfect addition to our family.   Our adoption experience through Kismutt was wonderful, and Kimberly, you are a kind and generous women to open your home to animals in need of a second chance.

Lisa

"Sophie",  was  adopted by 2 very awesome people, Travis & Terra of London, Ontario!  Thank you for opening your hearts and your home to a very special little girl!!

February 13, 2008  Hi Kimberly!    Sophie has quickly fit in/taken over since adopting her a few weeks ago. Many people have approached us regarding her eye and can't believe how upbeat and friendly she is after enduring such neglect.   Our other dog Lucy (who is about 4 times her size) has had nothing but fun ever since we brought Sophie home as her new friend.  They love to play tug-o-war, chase each other around and at the end of the day, they both agree on a good nap together.   They may be an odd couple given their size and pedigree, but they are both definitely enjoying each other's company, as much as we enjoy theirs.   We can't thank you enough for saving Sophie and giving us the opportunity to meet such a fun-loving and carefree dog.

Travis & Terra

SOPHIE IN RESCUE:

On a wintery New Years Eve, 2008, I got a call about a pup that needed help.  I was told by the Amish Puppy Miller that a pup had an "eye infection", that he tried to medicate himself, but it wasn't working.  He wondered if I was able to take her, but if not, he would just "dispose of her".  When I arrived later that evening, there she was, shivering uncontrollably in a kennel all by herself, covered in sawdust, dehydrated, and in severe pain.  I tucked her into my coat, did up the zipper, and thanked him several times for calling me.

Her eye was ulcertated and perferated, and there was no saving the eye.  She was suffering from Bronchitis, ear infections, and Coccidia.  She was a very sick little girl, and it did not look promising for her to go into major surgery with Bronchitis compounding her troubles.  On Jan. 2, 2008, as she went into surgery to remove her eye, I decided to name her, "Sophie".

Today she is a healthy, happy girl, who is full of life!  God Bless you Sophie

January 13, 2008  Hi Kimberly,   From that moment we brought Olive home, she was part of our family.  I (Fiona) had never had a dog before, always cats.  Boy has she wormed her way into my heart!  My husband is just silly over her, an she just loves him.....she yips and yelps when he walks in.  It was a long drive home after we adopted Olive, and Duncan slept on the floor with her, even though he usually sleeps on a top bunk bed.  Olive is a celebrity with the kids in the neighbourhood and is so loving.    In my son’s own words…”she is very loyal and we love her very much”.   Thank you Kimberly, for saving and hand raising Olive until we could bring her home.  I have attached a few pictures of our first year with Olive.

Kevin, Fiona and Duncan

Dec. 13, 2007     "Sorry we've been so long in sending pictures. As you can see Annie is doing well!  We have been to 2 obedience classes.  The first one she got the most sociable award, the second was a bit more successful!   She is quite the girl, very head strong and full of mischief.  Anyway we would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and thank you once again for our four legged bundle of joy and all the good work you do for the animals."

Dec. 19, 2007 "Hi Kimberly, The only thing Charles Boddington, "Charlie",  loves more than water is snow!  He is usually outside playing with his brother Rosco and it's all I can do to get him back inside.  Adopting each other was a joy from the beginning.  He's very smart, fits in perfectly and loves everyone and everything--even the cats!
The best thing I ever did was look at your website and the best thing that
happened to me was being allowed to adopt Charlie.  It has been so rewarding
having this little guy around.  Thanks Kim, for what you do and the commitment
you make to every pet that comes into your life.  Thank you for loving them
first.   Diane Baldin"

Mario writes.......

Dec. 18, 2007   Hello Kimberly,

"Thank you Kimberly for introducing Lola into our lives.  We feel very fortunate to be able to share every moment with such a loving and well behaved dog.  This would not have happened if not for Kismutt.  We would also like to thank you for making the adoption process go so smoothly.  It was a pleasure dealing with you because you were so professional.

Lola is adjusting very well to everyday life with us and our cat Mooka.  She loves sleeping and snoring, going for walks and playing outside, but most of all, she LOVES eating cheese.

Thank you for all of the work you do.
Mario & Marie-France"

Thank you so much for allowing us to adopt these special puppies, they are just absolutely perfect.   Right now Mavis is sleeping beside me and Suri is sleeping with Mom on the couch gaining some good ole rest time.

I have some photos of their first and second days with us, I hope you enjoy them!

"Ingrid", who came from a Amish Puppy Mill was adopted by Tobie-Lynn & Joe of Simcoe, Ontario!  A huge thank you to you for choosing to adopt this very tiny, but fiesty little girl!

"Hello Kimberly! Just wanted to give you and update on Ingrid (who we've nicknamed "Figgy") and send you some photos as well.  She is a wonderful addition to our family - loves to play and explore the house and yard, and everyone has fallen in love with her!

She is well on her way to becoming a fashion diva - I am knitting and crocheting sweaters during her naps, to keep her warm in the cool weather.  Her favorite toy is an orange hippo with a squeaker, and she loves to ease her teething pain by gnawing on rawhide.  She's become great friends with Mom's dog "Mia" - a huge Siberian Husky who happens to think Figgy is her puppy lol!  They have been spending quality play and nap time together - as the cat isn't overly playful! (Much to Figgy's dismay!).

As far as sleeping goes - she has taken over the bed - and we are happy to have her snuggling into us!  She's very loved and spoiled, has lots of toys to play with and chew on, and will be the most fashionably dressed puppy in the county!

Thanks again so much for rescuing this beautiful angel and letting her be a part of our family - we are so grateful!  God bless you for the heartwarming and much needed work that you do!

Please enjoy the pictures!  We'll write again soon!   Tobie-Lynn"

"Garbo", adopted by Debra Robinson of Brampton, Ontario!  She is one lucky doggie to have found such an Angel as you.

Debra writes..... Tuesday, November 20th, 2007, "I entered the keywords "rescue dogs ontario" in google, and it changed my life forever.  Technology really is great when it works like this. Later that day, after paperwork, vet references, and a call from Kimberley checked out, I had an appointment to drive two hours through pouring rain, and transport trucks to meet Garbo.   I will always be thankful for Kimberley rescuing her, and teaching her what love means.   Garbo (after the late, great Greta Garbo) still has "stand-off sighs", and beautiful, expressive eyes.   She is fast, funny, a great jumper, kisser, and very intelligent.  She uses the pool surround as a racetrack.   A flying dustmop!   We LOVE her, but then, everybody loves Garbo.   Here's to many years of fun with Garbo, starting with the best Christmas I can remember in a long time.
Words alone cannot thank you enough Kimberley!
Keep up the excellent work.
All love, and best wishes,
Debra and Garbo."

"Sarah", adopted by Paul & Deborah, of Keswick, Ontario!   You are very special people, and Sarah is so fortunate to have you as her Mom & Dad :)

"Kimberly, when we first met you and saw your facility, I could see Sarah was well loved. We fell in love with her immediately and want to thank you for our bundle of joy. Sarah has made our family complete, she is a very needy dog, I believe this is a result her past. She is the sweetest dog we have had and is a great companion for Shelby. They are almost always together; they even share each others food and toys and don't seem to mind sharing. She gives us a lot of joy and laughter. She fit in almost immediately and we can't imagine life without her. Best Wishes, Paul Dennis"

 Hi Kimberly!    Nov. 16, 2007

Here are a couple of pictures and an update of Lenny that you could post on the website in the picture page.  This medal is from his 4th place finish at our last event this year in Winchester, Ontario on Sep 30th, 2007; that is when he got his personal best of 21 feet 7 inches in dock diving!

Kimberly, I love him to pieces and I can't thank you enough for encouraging me to go to the Shelter that day, or I never would have found him.  He is without a doubt the best dog I have ever had!  He is amazing & totally makes me look good!!

You do wonderful work; I know how hard it can be sometimes ( I volunteered for an adoption group for a several years) but when you get good news stories back and know the dogs are happy, well cared for and loved, it makes it all worth it, doesn't it?  Keep up the great work!!

Cheers,

Judy

"Pumpkin", lived her entire life (3 yrs) in a filthy Amish Puppy Mill.  She was very underweight, undersocialized, and scared of her own shadow.  Today she is living the life she could only dream about. A very heartfelt thank you to Mary of London, Ontario, for adopting Pumpkin and making her dreams come true.  You are a very special person Mary, for taking on the challenges of a Puppy Mill dog.

Hello Kimberly!

Here we are in our backyard showing 1 happy dog and 1 happy caregiver - she  just had her first haircut and looked so cute and pretty.  She is the highlight of my life and has settled down very happily  with myself and the cat Gillian.

Thank you for all the work that you do in saving these special animals so that we may give them a better life.

Sincere thanks again,
Mary

"Ralphie", adopted by the Billingsley family of London, Ontario.  Thank you Brian & Sarah for choosing to adopt and giving Ralphie the home he deserves!

Hi Kimberly,

It's been just over a month and we thought we would give you an update on our
little Ralphie!!!!! The kids were thrilled the day we brought him home. They
loved chasing him around and playing.  He adapted well to his new crate and was a
very fast learner that his bathroom was outside.   He is quick on picking up on
new tricks and will sit, shake a paw, lie down and bark on command.... of course,
lots of treats and great praise helps too.    His favourite thing is going on hikes
with Brian. They go almost daily out into the woods near our house and he is
adapting to off leash training and loves playing in the leaves and just running
free in the woods.   ,Now for the bad.... just kidding, there really isn't anything
minus some normal puppy chewing. The kids have now learned the importance of
cleaning up when they are done playing or their nice dolls could be missing a
head or a leg!!! We would like to thank you for making this all possible for
us.   Ralphie has been a great addition to our family. He is our excuse to get
daily exercise and go on family walks again.  We love watching him learn new
tricks and master the old ones.  And our most favourite part of all is his
bark!!!!! It sounds normal at first, then at the very end trials into the old
hound bark !!!!! It's fabulous... and makes us chuckle every time we hear it.

So thanks again from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!!

The Billingsley Family

"Abby" adopted by Deb of Stratford, Ontario.  Thank you Deb for adopting Abby and giving her the love and attention she needed.

Hi Kimberly!
Abby and I are doing great!  She has come along way since I first got her. We are really good for each other. Abby , has gained a couple of pounds ....really have to cut back on the treats !!!!  Thank you for letting me be the lucky one who got to love Abby.   Deb

"Mouse", who had spent his entire life in an Amish Puppy Mill, was adopted by Sebastian & Cherine of Oakville, Ontario.  Mouse is pictured here with his new big brother "Wolf".  Words cannot describe how thankful I am to Sebastian and Cherine for taking on the challenges of a puppy mill dog, and giving him the life he so deserves.

Hi Kimberly!

I can't believe how such a small dog can bring so much love to one's heart.   All we want to do is hug and kiss him 24/7.  Even Wolf walks up to him and gives him a gentle kiss on the cheek. I think he knows that Mouse went through a lot.   Last night Mouse started scratching at the comforter trying to make himself a nest. It turns out he wanted to crawl under the duvet.  Once I placed him underneath, he was out like a light.  I woke up this morning to find him fast asleep under the warm duvet. He didn't want to get up!   Sebastian had both dogs outside today and Mouse sunned himself while Wolf played around the yard. Everyday he breaks out of his fear a little bit at a time.  I get so excited to see these changes.  No living creature should endure the pain these poor animals experience.  I'm just happy that Mouse has found his forever family with us :)  Cherine

"Red", a.k.a. Thomas, adopted by Cathy of Grand Bend, Ontario!

Hi Kimberly!  Here is Thomas just this past weekend.  He had just had a bath and was trying to dry himself on my Grandson.

Thomas is well socialized and comes with me most everywhere.  He loves, people, children and other dogs.  He also goes to Doggy Day Care every now and then.  They just love him there and he is surely the busiest most energetic little guy they have visit.  The other dogs love him too.

I have to go now because Thomas is in the bathroom unrolling the toilet paper!!!
One of his favorite things to do when I am not looking!!!  Thank you so much for bringing him into my life.  Cathy

"Cezar", adopted by Monica of Stayner, Ontario!  Monica writes:

Hi Kimberly,  Hope all is well with the rescue and you and family :)  Here is a cute picture of Cezar hiding under his big sister!   We are socializing him to the fullest and he is a very happy puppy. He has his cuddly moments and his crazy moments and we love him to death.   Indie loves him too.... always keeping an eye on him.   I'll send more pics soon!  Monica

"Mickey", adopted by Mike, Carolynn & Family of Innisfil, Ontario!  Carolynn writes...

Hi Kimberly!

Just wanted to let you know how Mickey is getting along!  Mickey is quite happy here at the Yeates home. He's taken a wee bit of a liking to me (Carolynn) and follows me everywhere- it's quite funny actually- as when the others want to take him for a walk- he waits for me to say it's o.k to go....
He's taken quite a liking to his "big sister" Maya. They run around and play quite well together. Our cat - Tuna- (who is species challenged- as he thinks he is a dog) has also taken quite well to Mickey. Mickey will chase Tuna around the yard- and then you will see Tuna pursuing Mickey- quite funny really.  Thank you for bringing him into our home.  He is much loved!

Carolynn
